Touch up Paint: Basecoat vs. Single Stage
Basecoat colors tend to match cars better. Most cars produced since 1985 are painted in basecoat. You can use Single Stage Paint on these cars for inconspicuios spots, but you will recieve a better color match in basecoat. Solid colors usually match well in both single stage and basecoat. Metallic and pearl colors match better in basecoat. It is also easier to blend basecoat color into exsisting finish.
Some colors are only available in basecoat paint (no gloss). A clearcoat will be needed. We offer three different grades of clearcoat:
